Getting the most from your GWBA Membership:
Our goal is to provide networking opportunities that will enable each member to grow her own business, while helping other members to grow their business. In addition, we strive to contribute to the community by being a voice for Gurnee Business Women, as well as contributing our individual talents. We are delighted you are interested in GWBA, and wish your business continued success and growth! To that end, if you join our group we offer the following suggestions:
Bring Business cards, pamphlets, promotional materials to each meeting.
We meet monthly for 90 minutes at the Gurnee Village Hall located on O'Plaine Road, the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Our meeting starts at 8:15 and ends at 9:45 with time before and after to network.
This is a great place to discuss any specials you are offering this month. Each member will have your card and general information, so it will become second nature to refer people to you. Don’t forget – networking is one of the most valuable benefits of your membership!
Join a committee & Participate in fairs and events!
Joining a committee (or two) helps you to get to know other GWBA members and increase your visibility both within and outside of GWBA! We will provide you with a list of Committees and their descriptions when you come to your first meeting.
We have a team of ladies who alerts and advises us on vendor fairs in our community that we as a group or individual company you can participate in. Work at our booth and hand out your brochures. Your participation in any outside event counts towards your required 7 attendances for the year. These are excellent ways to meet more of your neighbors, fellow business people and potential clients!
Think Referrals:
Referrals are the lifeblood for business growth. Make it a point to think about fellow GWBA members when attending functions in the course of your business and personal activities. It is doing everyone a favor to always be thinking in terms of serving their needs. If possible, get a business card from the potential referral so you have correct contact information, and we have referral forms you can pass onto to the appropriate member.
Since you are now a member of Lake County Chamber group AND Gurnee Chamber, there are plenty of opportunities to network, we hope you take advantage of this GREAT benefit of your membership with GWBA! You will receive invitations to events each month via email.
Give a Presentation about your Business.
Each month we have 3 members give us a 5 minute presentation about their business. This is a great way for other members to get an opportunity to learn more about you and your business offerings.
